Engine dies

2012 Peugeot 308 1600 eco hdi
Car: Peugeot 308
Year: 2012
Variant: 1600 eco hdi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have a Peugeot 308 sw auto hdi (2012), that I have had from new. For the last two years, I have been experiencing an intermittant fault involving power loss when I have been pulling away. The car creeps forward for approx 2-3 seconds then takes off at normal speed.

These are notorious in the trade,
and the web!
I'll give the most common fault first,
and the most expensive.
it's a little complex,
basically a leaking injector seat lets combustion gas leak back into the engine oil contaminating it with carbon,
this builds up until it blocks the oil feed filter in the turbo oil feed pipe,
result being a failed turbo bearing.
which sound very much like your is beginning to fail/
And that's not the bad news,
not only does this need a new turbo it also needs the entire engine stripped and cleaned,
new oil pick up in the sump and new turbo oil feed pipe and filter,
That's the worst it could be,
the best would be a failed turbo pressure sensor or the associated pipes.
So first step is have the turbo internals inspected.
if it's shot there's usually a hell of a lot of oil in the turbo induction duct.
