Noise from gearbox

When I get 30mph to 40mph in 3rd and 4th gear a whirring noise starts as I ecelerate it goes away, I've taken it to Peugeot and they say there is nothing wrong with its a normal noise, please can anyone help ??

You dont say what year , could take to another garage and get a second opinion .
