2009 Peugeot 308 key only locks doors remotely from inside the car

Key only unlocks/locks the doors remotely when held a inch away from the ignition ie inside the car. Is there a problem with the hf receiver around the ignition? Does anyone know whether this can be replaced?

Assume it's not just the remote battery needing replaced?

yes i would relace remote battery before doing anything else

Thank you for your suggestion.
I replaced the battery but the problem remained the same.I still think it has to do with the hf receiver around the ignition.
