My cooling fan is leaving me with a flat battery, how do I disconnect it?
Problem added: Oct 25, 2011 (12 years ago)
this fan is switched via a thermoswitch which is usually in the side of the radiator if you want to disable it go to fusebox locate fuse for this circuit pull it out no more fan!!!!!! or disconnect wiring from fan, or change thermoswitch ,this way engine wont overheat an age old fix for this is fitting a switch between the 12volt supply wire and the fan ,this way you get to choose if fan is on or off

I am making an assumption here but if it is a 1.6 petrol and your cooling fan keeps running you have an air leak into intake. Is your dipstick in properly and is your oil filler cap on tight? switching of cooling fan is a bit more involved these days and isnt just a case of a thermoswitch in rad.

Agree with " paulieone ", dont disable fan in case you get caught out and it overheats , better to run cool than that to happen .
