I have a peugeot 308 2008 1.6 VTI sport, the car is new to me and I have had some problems initially with the car which the dealer sorted out. I have had it back a week and now the oil light flashes everytime i switch on the engine, the oil level is fine?? plus the car runs terribly when cold really jerky and close to stalling, as soon as its warmed up its fine, I am taking it back to the dealer again but would appreciate any solutions so as I do not get fobbed off again.

thanks so much from the dumb blonde!

The cold running fault could be the engine coolant temp sensor which lets the ECU know how much fuel the engine needs . Works like the old choke where it gets a richer mixture when cold and then leans out as engine warms up . The oil light could be a faulty oil switch / sensor / transmitter (just different names ) but make sure that is all it is and there are no engine rattles .

Hi,

I just wanted to say a big thank you. I took my car back with the soultuion you had suggested they have fitted a new coolant temp sensor & sorted out the flashing oil light and now the car is running perfect, if it hadn't have been for your advice I am sure they would still be scratching their heads so for that I must thank you.

Cheers xx
