2007 Peugeot 308 idling too slow when cold

Car: Peugeot 308
Year: 2007
Variant: cc
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
can the fuel injection be adjusted at home with little knowledge of engines. The idle speed seems too low when cold and will cut out. OK when in use.

Possibly the engine coolant temp sensor ?

Is this a common thing and why does this happen?

if the coolant temp sensor is faulty it will be telling the ecu the wrong temp of the engine. the ecu needs to know how hot the engine is so i knows how much fuel to inject into the engine. the fuel injection cant be changed as it is now all down to the ecu.
