2003 Peugeot 307 rh indicating problem

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2003
Variant: 2.0 HDI 110bhp 5 sp Manaul
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
When indicating right, the indicator will flash one or two times and then stop. At same time exterior lights will turn themselves on, even in bright sunshine. No problem when indicating left. Have found hat if I turn on side lights on driving lights and then indicate right, this problem does not occur.
Nt fussed about having side lights on all the time for daylight driving, as more cars are going to 'Day Light Running Lights'. However would this be considered an MOT failure, do indicators have to work irrespective of exterior lights being on?

yes you have to get it sorted for mot. sounds like a short or bad connection somewhere. check as many connections/earths as you can find
