2003 Peugeot 307 dead engine

Hello all,
Can anyone give me a few hints here. I turned the key in my car and it was completely dead. No lights, radio displays or anything else, the only thing i heard was a clicking sound but not all the time. At first i thought it was just a dead battery but i have had it checked and charged for good measure. The think is it happened after i had just stopped off at a shop so the engine was only off for a couple of minutes. Anyone who could help me out with some suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Check engine to body earth strap .

check your battery connections for good contact, and get your battery properly discharge tested
