Peugeot 307 Heater blower problem........

hi there
in most cases it is the resistor that packs up,the resistor is located in the top of the heater box beneath the central display.the only way to get it out is to
remove the glove box
remove the heater fan
feel in side the heat box and find resistor, turn 1/4 turn and then pull it downwards ,unplug the connector and remove the resistor.
test the resistors with an multimeter (the resistor is in the earth side of the heater wiring)

the post above really doesnt awnser your question!!! too easy to copy and paste other peoples solutions from other forums!Easiest way is to access resistor from the drivers footwell. Need to use recirc button.remove felt under trim and small panel below steering column. look up and you will see the air ducting with a large opening (as long as recirc on)look to your left and up slightly and you will see rest of loom. if you put hand up into the air ducting you should feel the hole where the resistor would have sat if you hadnt removed it. the connector hopefully is still there. The two pin connector for the motor will obviuosly still be on passenger side. tie a small piece of wire to this. then find the wiring on drivers side and pull it through. Trace the wiring to find the other connectors and remove the loom through the drivers side. Refit in reverse order tying the wire used to feed the two pin connector back across top of heater box. Have plenty of plasters at hand because you will probably need them!!

Paulieone

The solution I posted was from Peugeot forum and from Peugeot technician .If you know the answer or where to find it , it saves time just to cut and paste , rather than re-type out in your own words .This was easily understood and adequate for others who were on that forum to carry out this repair .But obviously if you want to spin it out like you have , you could go into more detail .Normally this is suffice for most people .Most times you help out on the forum with good advice and help . Other times , like now , you nit pick at other peoples posts with your stupid !!!!! and childish comments trying to run down the posters who are trying to help .You have done this for quite a while but I feel it's now time to speak my mind as you seem to hover about waiting to have a dig at someones post . You want to chill out , lifes too short to go about with the attitude you seem to have .We all try to help here , not try to point score over each other like you .Sorry for rant , but I feel it needed said as you seem to have a massive chip on your shoulders for whatever reason and always seem to deride other forum members .All the best for 2011 .

Whittinghame

Thanks for the rant. Sorry if you feel i am nit picking but i was merely stating a fact! The poor guy knows his resistor is no good but wanted to know how to replace the heater harness.I attempted to awnser his question as simply as possible. And for the record i do not "Hover about" waiting to have a dig at other peoples posts. I,like yourself have merely tried to point people in the right direction as unfortunately sometimes the advise given is not always the correct or best advise as i know you have often stated. I agree with you about the forum and a very large percentage of posters give very good and accurate advise. As for having a chip on my shoulder and trying to " point score" i am merely trying make corrections but like you have said it can take an age to sit and type so just like to get straight to the point.

Paulieone ,

I just felt with your reply yesterday re. Seat washer and todays on the fan that it seemed to be getting personal and turning into a " see who could p*** the highest competition " which at my stage in life , I dont need .I agree the advice given at times by some , myself included can often be wrong , but it's an honest opinion . But I prefer to add my tuppence worth and offer another solution without appearing to ridicule others at the same time .But lets draw a line under this matter , it's water under the bridge now . On other forums I'm on , you can contact other members via private messages which would have allowed us to debate matter in private . Might be a suggestion worth considering on here ,
Cheers, Whittingehame .

Apologies if you felt it was getting personal as i tried to explain that was never on the agenda.Anyway we are all grown ups and like you say water under the bridge. No offence taken or implied. cheers

Hi guys thanks for the advise as you stated i no the resister is toast but could not figure out how to get the harness out. I will now try to remove it from the drivers side after first dismantling it again and after selecting the recirculation button. When i get round to having another go i will let you no how i got on. Once again thanks and chill out. riz

Hi guys, I have eventually replaced the heater harness on my 307. this was still a real ball banger to do but well worth it. Replacement parts cost me £135 and about 3hours of my time. The hardest part was getting the new harness over the top of the heater housing box, even with string attached it is still a night mare. The old harness and resister connections were chared and burnt. The new harness has been modified so as to stop this fault and it works better than ever. Any way guys thanks for all the tips they were really helpfull, Cheers RIZ
