2003 Peugeot 307 air conditioning/blower fan not working

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2003
Variant: 2.0HDi estate
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The blower fan has recently stopped working. I thought it might be a fuse but they checked out ok. When I press the air conditioning on switch, there is a slight clunk coming from the under the bonnet somewhere. Any ideas anyone?

The fan resistor has probably packed up.may also require new wiring loom as plug to resistor melts

i assumed you meant interior fan

Yes. Indeed I did mean the interior fan. Is it not possible that it's a relay? Either way, is it going to be expensive to fix?

its not too exspensive.couple of hours to fix if heater loom required

Have the same problem- due to overheated resistor/wiring loom/connector.
I am trying to remove the loom but presumably need to remove the fascia top that houses the speedo panel.I have removed the audio unit with the heater vents, the two side heater vents, the speedo panel, the multi-function display and unscrewed the bottom edge of the fascia top but it won't come off. Help please!
Many thanks
