Shuddring

Many possible causes , could be wheel balance though normally starts at lower speed . Check all tyres for twists / bulges . Then check steering , suspension ,driveshafts / c.v joints for wear .

had new tyres tracking done twice track rod ends wish bones peugeot say slight play in the steering rack but nothing to worry about and not that bad to send shuddering like this they wanted 998 pounds for new rack and thats not fitting it i heard that you can fit new rods to the steering rack is this correct and if so how much do you think im about to scrap it things are that bad ?

Could check engine mountings and all wheel bearings ,Also driveshafts and c/v joints as earlier suggested .If only slight wear in rack , shouldn't cause this as dealer verified . If rack faulty you will pay plenty going to dealers and doesn't seem to be needed .Are there no steering/ suspension /driveshaft specialist in your area ? There are plenty in Glasgow / Strathclyde area who would do any repairs or replacement parts at a fraction of the cost .Usually got parts in stock and fitted fast .You could get a second opinion from them as well as a estimate of cost .Normally can be found in local Yellow pages or free motor trade magazines .Worth a go before scrapping car.

hi and thanks to whittingehame for your wisdom tured out to be excess movement in the tie rod ends on the steering rack side hope this helps some one else
