2004 Peugeot 307 many many fauts..:-(

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2004
Variant: HDI
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Antipollution failure light has just come on, my horn has stopped working, I'm on the 2nd washer/wiper pump now and it has stopped working again, the internal temperature display constantly says 60 degrees, the boot will not open off the central locking (I have had the 'connectors' replaced but it stopped working a month later), the heater fan only works when it wants to (and only on fan setting 2 and 4)!! What am I to do :-(. I've spent a fortune on this car, does anyone think it might be some undiscovered electrical fault that is causing all these problems, and that if it is discovered all the faults will miraculously recover. I'm desperate now!!

For the heater fault , go here and see possible causes

For other faults , this might or might not help ,

PEUGEOT 307 BSI Body Control Module
BBA can collect, test and repair.

Before sending the unit try the BSI Reset procedure as this may cure your faults:

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.

Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.

Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).

Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.

In the exhaust is a soot filter known to PSA as a FAP. It regenerates [a sort of deliberate chimney fire] and burns some of the soot off every few thousand miles. The cerium additive is called Eolys [go Google] and is stored next to the diesel tank with a computer controlled dosing mechanism.

If you don't drive it long enough, fast enough; then the regeneration process won't commence and the filter will block. Take it for a 40 minute blast down a empty dual carriageway; it's unbroken time above 50 [around six minutes] that will start the process.

Alternatively; take it to your dealer for a forced regen. If it's done more than 50,000 they will probably just fit a new FAP and top up the additive. Shouldn't cost more than £6-800.

That should keep you busy for a while !!!!! Best of luck ,
