hi there
economy mode is a power saving mode to stop the battery from going flat lf the ignition is on with out the engine running. this is not the cause of your non start ,the only way to get out of economy mode is to get the engine started

Don't know if this helps ,

http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-854.html

This will re-program your key-

~ Turn the Ignition to the ON position using key No1

~ Press the LOCK button for 10 seconds.

~ take out the key and wait for 10 seconds.

~ Check that the Plip key operation works

~ Repeat process for additional keys

~ switch ignition off
