Exhaust fumes entering cabin?

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2008
Variant: SE 1.6 HDi90

For some time now I have been wondering whether the fumes I can smell inside the car are from my engine rather than surrounding traffic. The smell is almost imperceptible but I'm positive I can detect it even when away from other vehicles.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Is the car not still under warranty ? If so return to dealer and let them know of your suspicions . That way it will be logged in case it develops later on .
