2007 Peugeot 307 pulling to the left

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2007
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Had this car 6 months. Drove lovely. Three months ago started pulling to the left after I clipped the kerb. Took it back to Peugeot (still under warranty). They said they could not find anything wrong with it altough the tracking was out. They had it tracked for me and I drove it home and it was STILL doing it. This is driving me demented. I absolutely hate the car now. Peugeot have told me to have a 4 wheel alignment which they don't do, but everytime I ring a garage to book it in they tell me it doesn't need a 4 wheel alignment. They tell me the suspension needs stripping and it putting on a jigg - insurance job. I'm honestly thinking about getting rid of the dam thing - any body had this problem before?

When you hit the kerb you must have bent something on steering , suspension or chassis /subframe . You will need to find out what was damaged , knocking out the alignment ,rather than trying to adjust to compensate .You will need to get a front geometry check on camber and castor to verify it's out.It is nothing to do with Peugeot .You will either have to pay , or submit an insurance claim .It could just be a mechanical part needing replaced , usually is unless very hard hit . If it's that bad that they are suggesting puting it on a jig ,you should be able to see damage to cradle / subframe / floor etc . easy enough .Could be something simple like wishbone / susp arm bent . Hope this helps you .

Thanks for that. I'll just have to find a garage now that can do this - and not get fobbed off. These mechanics talk to women like we are stupid!!

The car is also tramlining the road really badly. Could this be associated to clipping the kerb too?

Yes , if the steering geometry is out it can cause numerous faults . As you say ,it's a case of getting the right garage who know what to look for , to spend time examining car .Sometimes it can take a while , measuring distances and checking angles etc. before finding what is damaged .Other times you may spot it right away. I have found listening to customers and asking follow up questions , invaluable at times . Male and female customers should be treated with the same respect .
