2004 Peugeot 307 lack of power

When starting the engine, I'm not getting a lot of power, it feels like it'll just die out. I've 'stalled' a few times as there doesn't seem to be much power, this has also happened when slowing down not just in 1st gear. I'm having to rev a lot to get going. Any ideas?

Had similar problem with 2006 307 E90. Problem diagosed as fault in downstream oxygen sensor. Solution was to replace the Lambda Probe.
