Peugeot 307 reversing warning system

Car: Peugeot 307
Variant: 1.6HDI SW
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Periodically my reversing warning system gives up the ghost, but can after a short period become active again. I've visit my Peugeot Dealer and they take greater pride wireing my car up to their tech equipement, charging me £37 and tell me there's nothing wrong with it. Something is obviously causing this annoying problem, I'm unsure what activates the reversing proximator warning system and wonder if someone with past experience in motor mechanics could correct the fault. In my ealier life I training as a Ford Fitter (50 years ago), but things have changed so dramatically over the years I'm at a loss to know where to start.

Could be faulty / sticking reverse light switch which usually feeds the warning sensors ?
