I have just brought this car 2nd hand from a dealer the clutch seems to be a bit high they have said to me that they have service the car before I brought it
could it be that the break pads are going on the car

Brake pads wont cause a high clutch pedal .If in doubt with clutch ask another garage for their opinion , should be FOC just to check and let you know .
