my car is jumping out of 2nd and 4th gear 1 garage says gearbox the other says linkages can anyone give advice pls

May well be linkage . Have you had a garage check it ?

no mate two garages telling me 2 diff things yet when i rang the one back who said gearbox pblm he said gear linkages

You cant tell over the phone , got to physically examine . Linkage simple job , gear synchros / selectors inside box, big job.

it is gearbox been quoted 225 in manchester

Is reverse gear affected as well , if so normally the cables .You usually have 1st 3rd and 5th gears .

Agree that it sounds like a selector ,linkage issue .
