Tyres screeching

2005 Peugeot 307 2.0L XSE Auto
Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2005
Variant: 2.0L XSE Auto
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Each time I start driving my car I hear a high pitched screeching sound that seems to be coming from the wheels. After a few minutes of driving i can no longer hear it. This has been happening for over six months. In that time I've had a full service and taken it back to the mechanic with the same complaint. I've been told that the tyres are fine, break pads are fine, and the noise is probably just break dust. Due to the frequency of the wheel noise I'm somewhat sceptical about the mechanic's assessment. Being a young female i feel like mechanics see fit to ignore my car complaints, and then charge me whatever they feel like.

Possibly the brake pads if cheap pads have been fitted,or something sticking if you are able to locate which wheel the noise is coming from then work from there, and see if applying the brake or turning the steering changes the noise.as for garage charges you should control this more by firstly finding out the hourly rate ,Then giving them an hours diagnostic time and to contact you after that period with finding,s and further authority to continue if you think they are moving in the right direction,or maybe you should find a recommended garage that appreciates customers regardless of gender.

get the rear brakes checked out and the handbrake cables and levers at the calipers . The cables can stick due to water getting into them the result is squealing brakes.
