2000 Peugeot 307 multi function display

a week or so ago the information on the screen went off (time, fuel, radio) there was just the peugeo logo. Now thats gone off and I only have a blank screen. The mechanic has looked over my car but doesnt know what it is. He did a diagnostic but it didnt show any thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
