Complete electrical meltdown!!

2006 Peugeot 307 1.6 SE Auto
Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 SE Auto
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
We have a Peugeot 307 which has gone into complete electrical chaos. When we switch the engine on, all the electrical faults come on, we've had brakes failure, ABS failure, airbag failure, antipollution failure and towards the end of the electric madness, gearbox failure. The engine still continues the run although the car does go at lower power. The revs die and the speedometer either freezes or dies completely. After about 2-3 minutes, sometimes not even that, and the car starts the warm up everything comes back on and the car runs perfectly. We've had three different garages take a look, including Peugeot themselves, and everyone is stumped as to what the problem is. Two of them are suggesting getting a new ECU but can't guarantee this will solve the problem. Personally I'm thinking it could all be linked back to the thermostat. The car seems to fix itself when the engine starts warming up. Lately the antipollution light has been staying on but once it stops going crazy with the electric faults, it doesn't tend to do it again. This is why I'm reluctant to believe its the ECU as surely if it was, this would be a constant problem, not something that stops after 2-3 minutes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

I am sure it has already been done but start with checking the battery, then the earth connection on the gearbox, Has the wiring to the under bonnet fuse box been checked for signs of water and also the connections to the engine management ecu, If all ok a bsi download would be a good start then go from there.
