My Puegeot 307 would not start today. The battery is only about a year old. It had shown signs of struggling whiletarting for the last 2 days. I could only start it using a service battery. Can you let me know the reason?

My Puegeot 307 just won't start when i turn the key the motor just swings thats all it does and on the dashboard there is a stop light what could possibbly be the probelm?
