2003 Peugeot 307 indicator problem

hi, i have a peugeot 307 xsi 2003, when i turn the right indicator on, it flashes a couple of times then goes off and turns the lights on. However, if i turn the lights on manually with the light switch on the stalk, it works fine. Please can anyone help???
p.s the left indicator works fine all the time, lights on or off?????

I have come across these cars having faulty indicator stalks ,but mainly the actual bulb holder for indicator bulb bad connections,see if there making good contact they are not very much money for a new one
