2005 Peugeot 307 oil leak from turbo

Car: Peugeot 307
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.6 HDI 110 Turbo
Categories: Leaks & Noises
An oil leak from the intercooler pipes at the bottom of the turbo. Garage thinks it's really inaccessible to fix and maybe something to do with the Elosys cleansing system having run out. Does anyone have any experience of some cheap fixes to this?

is the oil leaking from the double air dozer assembly? these can leak around the seams and generally just require resealing. Excessive oil can point to a worn turbo.

Yes it seems to be coming from the pipe directly beneath the turbo, lots of oil and there are signs of blow between the turbo joints. It looks like the inlet manifold will have to be removed to enable pipe to be replaced. But this looks like a massive job, virtually stripping away engine? Is it that complicated? Also, is it likely to be anything to do with the particulate filter as the cleansing fan often comes on loud after the car turned off?

Pardon?

how you have described it it sounds like the oil return pipe. You may have a blocked particulate filter causing the blow where you describe it. The cooling fans will run when regeneration of filter is required

Yes, the cooling fan comes on really loudly most times the car is stopped for about 3-5 minutes. Would this suggest the particulate filter? How expensive is it to clean or replace?

your best option is take it to a dealer and have it checked out. there maybe a software update for ecu for cooling fan running when it does
