1996 Peugeot 306 window problem

Hi,
Hoping someone here can save my sanity from a problem that has become more than a little frustrating!
My wife has a 306, and we're having issues with the driver's electric window. Basically it refuses to go up and down normally, something is causing it to jump out of line, with the top rear corner pulling out of the edging rubber and the lower front corner dropping down inside the door.
I have replaced the complete window motor/regulator assembly and the white plastic runner that the front edge runs up and down in inside the door.
I have pretty much run out of ideas for what is making it do this, there is no obvious cause at all, so hoping someone here might have a suggestion!

have you looked at the window mounting bracket check if it is worn (eg) the plastic lugs-clips which hold the window to the mechinisum

Yes I changed the plastic clips when I changed the mechanism.
I have pretty much changed everything that touches the window apart from the rubber edging seals all around the window. I can't think they would cause the problem but are really the only thing left. Is it worth trying lubing them with something I wonder?

there is a good possibilty that the rubbers are causing the problem as there is a metal strip in side most of the that corroded you could try buying some silicone spray and spray it in the gap where the windows run i had similar problem with a peugeot 405
