1996 Peugeot 306 the red stop sign is on all the time, also the water temp red light is on.

When i bought the car the red warning signe saying STOP was on, the guy said it was just a lose wire !! also the red light on the water temp is on all the time. but the gage never goes up to hot. The rev counter is not working as well. but it seems to drive ok. can someone help me please ??

Brake master cylinder sensor would be kaput.
Either replace entire assembly or just disconnect the lead to sensor like my 306's previous owner/mechanic did ... keep a constant check on the brake fluid levels though.
