2000 Peugeot 306 slight starting problem when cold

Hi my 306 has a slight start up issue when cold or left for about an hour, it turns over judders then imediatly corrects itself sometimes it can take two attempts to get it started, but when its hot its perfectly fine there is no difference in the drive and does not cut out, just wondering what it could be.
