2000 Peugeot 306 alarm will not go off only have manual keys

HI my alarm will not go off every time i put the key in the ignition the car will not start and the alarm will go off i did not use the car for several months and when i did i had this problem???

If your car battery is flat or run down after lying unused , you will have to get it charged or jump started . If this is the case you may have to to reset the alarm .The red reset button is under the bonnet screwed to the bulkhead .It is usually a flat or disconnected battery which means you have to take this action .

YES my car battery went flat but when i charged it the alarm would not stop going off where is this button exctly in the bonnet

the "red reset button "is nothing to do with the alarm its an ignition cut off switch!!!! check the siren as you may have corrosion at the terminals due to water ingress.

As "paulieone " says , wrong info given re. red switch . Wrong switch on wrong car , corrected on later post .
