1997 Peugeot 306 no electrics

Car: Peugeot 306
Year: 1997
Variant: 1.8 AutomaticGLX
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Car was running with no problems, however, when we parked and did the shopping and came to unlock the car we found that there was no power to unlock the car, using the central locking, got in tried to start the car there was only very dim dash board lights came up. Totally dead. Managed to jump start the car and everything seemed to be ok. Got home, but when we turned off the engine and tried to restart same problem, no electrics or power. If anyone has any ideas we would be very grateful.

probbly just needs a new battery but check the connections first and make sure the alternator is charging 13.5 to 14.5 volts when engine running and lights and heater on
