1998 Peugeot 306 electric windows front driver side

replaced switching mech with new does not work drivers or front passengers but have to have it plugged in for continuity for passenger side switch to work
mirror toggle works fine but also on seperate wiring.
Have tested with muitimeter but only getting 5v to switch, fuse is ok not sure on relay but would expect passenger front window not to work any ideas would be great

Check the wires between the 'A' post and the door there may be one or more broken wires!
