Car: Peugeot 306
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4 Meridian
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
driving normally and the engine revs of its own accord up to 3000 revs, sometimes it cuts out and sometimes it idles at 1500 revs.
Have put new stepper motor, coolant temp sensor, lambada sensor and throtle control body on after reading several threads about this common problem. No sign of any air leaks.
A friend has a garage and he put the car on a diagnostics machine - no problems shown! he's baffled, I'm more than baffled, HELP!!!!!!

After ensuring that you have no splits in the air inlet duct, unplug and reconnect the throttle pedal, this is probably caused by corrosion on the contact pins.
