Peugeot 208 gti sensor problem

Hi any help greatly appreciated.

I have a issue with engine management light that comes on and off regularly.

The light will come on one day and not the next.

It's been to two garages one had no clue and the other dephaser sensor.

The car runs fine with the light no limp mode.

The issue I have the quote I have received for the sensor replacement job is £580, half a day with them needing to access the rear of engine bay on a 8 year old car is it worth it

The worry is if what they quoted for actually fixes the fault or/and they find something else whilst working on the car at additional expense . Plus dependant on car overall condition , mileage , MOT expiry date and other factors the car could become a money pit . The other option if not repairing is to trade it in when the engine light is not on and let someone else fix it as reading your earlier post and the problems you have had in the short time since buying the car , it would seem like you may have bought a pig in a poke .
