Alarm and light on dash saying that my boot is open when it is not and also the car not locking at all

There is a message on dash saying my boot is open and an alarm goes off, also my car not locking. What can be causing this problem. Is this due to sensor problem?

It could be a faulty internal micro switch on the boot lock assembly or a wiring issue to the unit,could try lubricating the lock ,and check wiring through hinge
