2006 Nissan Note starter motor

Hi... When the car has stood for a day or when it has got very cold the starter motor makes a light grinding noise when it dis-engages after the car has started. It has only started making this noise since the car had been serviced. Is this a one off problem or is it known with this make of car....Andy44

You could remove starter motor and check shaft that pinion slides on prior to engaging with flywheel is not dirty or got clutch dust on it .If it's needing cleaned , you can get this type of noise .
