2006 Nissan Micra remote central locking working very intermittantly!

Car: Nissan Micra
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.2 Sport+
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
The remote central locking is not working more often than not.

Both my usual keyfob and spare ketfob have this problem. Which means I either cant get in the car-well I can but via the emergency key lock on the passenger side. but then i have the problem with the car not locking when i get to my destination.

I know the BCM controls the central locking, but i am struggling to find any diagram to point out where this is, or what relay controls the remote central locking, so i can check if the wires have short cct'd, or the relay is not actuating.

The unlock and locking button inside the car works to unlock and lock the car doors.

Any info will be greatly recieved as I am a bit short of cash to take it to the dealer, and my wife really needs this car for the school run.

Many Thanx Mark

Dont know if this might help you ,

" NISSAN Micra Key Remote Control Programming

The Central Door locking is controlled by the Multi-Remote Control system which controls the door locking, door super locking and hazard reminder. When the doors are locked and unlocked the unit flashes the hazard lights once for lock and twice for unlock.

A maximum of four remote controls are allowed to be programmed.

Ensure all the doors have been unlocked, either by using a good transponder key or remote control plip key.

1. Turn the ignition switch from Position 0 to ON 6 times within 10 seconds.

2. Then turn ignition switch to OFF position. Leave key in ignition switch.

3. After 2 seconds, the system will enter programming mode and will flash the warning lights twice.

4. Press and HOLD the unlock button on the Plip.

5. While pressing the unlock button, press the lock button 3 times.

6. Release the unlock button.

7. The warning lights will flash once to indicate successful programming.

8. Repeat procedure 4 to 7 for up to 4 plip key’s.

9. When completed turn ignition ON, and the warning lights will flash 2 times.

10. Remove key, and check all plip key’s for operation.

NOTE : The programming mode will stop when either the ignition is switch ON, 4 plip keys have been programmed or no input signal either from the switch or plip keys has been received for 120 seconds.

Hi

Thankyou for your answer. I have tried that. But i cant get it to go into program mode. Is this because i can't unlock all the doors using the remote?

I have also put a new battery in one of the keyfobs and tried it again, but still no warning lights to indicate programming mode?

Kind regards
Mark

Could try disconnecting the battery for a short while and then reconnect battery and try the programming mode again.

Hi again.

I think I have found the solution.

Two of my neigbours are having problems with their central locking in my street as well. The problem only happens when we are in our street (we are all parked near eachother). The cars lock and unlock fine outside of our street.

My new company car (Audi A3 does not have this problem) nor does my neigbours new Van.

After some searching on the internet, I can across something that is apparently known by OFCOM. Alot of modern wireless systems operate at 433mhz. The same frequency as some older car remotes. So the cars senor is being flooded with signals, hence why your keyfob signal does not get through. or might do intermittantly. Some of the following wire systems can cause this, Stuck door bell, home cinema systems, BT homehub etc....

So my search is now on, for a solution to this. I.e can I get new keys and reciever that operate at a different frequecny! I will be searching the net tonight, and possibly asking my local dealer tomorrow. In the mean time if anyone knows the answer to this, please can you let me know, as my wife would really like to be able to park by our house and lock her car again.

Many Thanx
Mark.
