Revs increase by 200 revs when the lights are turned on or the fan

since ive had the car when the car is warmed up and ticking over at 750 revs and i turn the headlights on or i turn the fan on or even the rear window heater the revs increase by 200 revs ive spoke to a nissan dealer but they say its normal but ive checked about 10 micras of about the same age and none of them do it can anybody help thankds derek

I wouldn't be surprised by this happening. I think the revs are rising to help the alternator charge the battery to replace the charge used by the lights/fan.

However as you say this doesn't happen on other similar micras I'd suggest you get the battery checked to see:
1. That it is holding charge properly
2. That it is the correct fitment for your car

A garage should do this for a beer.

While you're there ask if they can check the alternator too.
