my nissan micra refuses to start.itstarted as normal but 5 minutes into my journey whilst slowing down at junction the engine stopped and my battery light lit up on the dashboard.i repeatedly tried to start but had no success.did all the usual checks and found that there was no spark going to the spark plugs.could this be a problem with the distributor.any help would be gratefully accepted.

It sounds like an electrical problem, i take it that you you checked all fuses, did you check batery terminals for corrosion and you have good earths, does it crank over at all?
