Battery dead

1995 Nissan Micra
Car: Nissan Micra
Year: 1995
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Recently i stupidly left the lights on my micra on overnight, as you would expect in the morning my battery as dead. I jumped the battery with leads and tried to go for a drive to charge the battery up but found the car dying on me very soon into my journey, i tried this a few times but the same thing keeps happening, i have topped the battery up with distilled water but it doesnt want to charge, is this purely the battery or is it another problem underlying? thanks a lot for your time

because the battery was completely flat you would be best to charge the battery overnight and put the battery back on the car the next morning if the car doesnt start very well you are going to need a new battery jump startin the car and running it is only going to overload the alternator and then you would need one of them aswell so hopefully its just the battery you need

I would say completely depleting the battery has damaged the cells in the battery so it can no longer accept a charge.
