Dashboard indicators not woking intermittently

2002 Nissan Micra
Car: Nissan Micra
Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi,
The problem with my 2002 Micra petrolis that from time to time the dashboard instruments, speedometer, rev counter, fuel and temperature indicators all register zero as if the engine was stopped, but the car drives fine. Car starts and drives fine but instrument readings sometimes suddenly fall to zero.
I have checked dashboard fuse, I have cleaned and tightened the battery connections, and I have removed, sanded and reconnected the negative earth lead to the chassis so that it makes a good earth connection. The intermittent fault remains. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You.

Hi, if its the bubble shape Micra there is a common fault where the fuse holder just in front of the battery in the engine bay corrodes badly. The corrosion is hard to see from above but any auto electrician will be able to sort this for you at a reasonable cost (it cost me about £30.00). Hpoe this helps.
