Ipod AUX connection not recognised

I have tried connecting an ipod classic to the USB connection port in the micra and nothing appears on the Nissan Connect screen, I have tried several fixes but nothing appears to solve the problem. I have tried the following
1. Connect via USB, pressing the AUX button several times no ipod is shown as connected.
2. Connecting an alternative iPhone to the USB, nothing is recognised.
3. Connecting both devises via the AUX port instead, nothing is recognised.
4. Resetting the Nissan Connect to factory settings.
5. Deleting and restoring ipod to factory settings
6. Checking fuses under the steering wheel
7. Connecting the iphone via bluetooth which does plays music.
Is there any known fix for this problem?

Have you tried holding AUX button for a few seconds ?

Yes I have done that too, Ive pressed and held it for a long time it just shows AUX and the jack symbol on the screen, regardless of the amount of times its pressed or held, even if there is nothing plugged in

Have you tried another lead in case your connecting lead is not good.

To be honest , not my strongest subject as I had auto electrician who did all that work for me . Dont know if this kit is needed as it covers up to 2010 .

The cable in the link I don't think is needed as the Nissan Connect comes with iPod functionality without needing additional equipment. I am completely baffled by this I've even tried the iPod in my neighbours car and it works via the USB.

It should work on your m/y the fact that it is,nt suggests a connection issue or faulty unit.

Why not pop in to your local nissan branch and ask them if they would check the systems function just in case there's something simple that,s being missed ,It,s often better if you are physically in front of the problem.

I was afraid that would be needed, mines a little distance away, I ask them to check the system. I'll post any resolution or possible outcome of the visit!

the problem may be with the ipod and noy your car! Have encountered problems with ipod connections before and it has been software compatability.
