1997 Nissan Micra window tries to keep going up once closed. makes loud noise.

Window opens and closes fine, but when the window reaches the top, instead of just stopping the motor is still trying to push the window up and if you don't let go it tries to go up further although it is closed and makes a loud noise each time. what can i do to make the window just close and not repeatedly try to keep closing although its shut.
