2003 Nissan Micra front wipers just stopped working

The wipers stopped working while it was throwing it down. I can still hear the motor so i know it isnt that.
thinkit might be the wiperlinkage but have no idea how to check> How do u get under the wipers to check?

can you move the wiper arms easily by hand ? if yes check the nuts that hold them onto the car theres useally just a plastic cover to pull up right at the bottom of the arm .if these are tight then its most likely that the linkages may be worn and fell off
