1998 Nissan Almera washer front screen wont work

The back screen washer works but the front windscreen does not work when I ask for water it sets the windscreen wipers on is it a pump or a motor that needs fixing and is this expensive I have no blockages in the pipes as far as I can see nozzles are not blocked and there is water in the chamber

does the washer pump make a noise when operated,if not check fuse, check for feed at pump,if ok check earth point,if ok poss pump fault. if pump working,disconnect hose at pump outlet operate switch see if water is pumped from bottle.if not pumped remove pump check if filter in bottle blocked if not blocked poss pump faulty,if pump pumps water reconnect hose, disconnect hose from washer jets, operate switch if water comes out of hose jets blocked, if no water fault in hose from pump to jets
