when setting off it chugs for about three miles and have to pull over for traffic , it also seems worse when cold or wet weather.and have to keep dropping a gear sometimes it work sometimes it don't

Maybe a fuel or spark issue,if it,s cold related then more likley ignition issue,code read would be the first step though.

Check plugs and test plug leads .Check timing .If problem still there , get it scanned .
