2002 Nissan Almera loss of power

Car: Nissan Almera
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.5 twister
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
the problem i have is that around town and short journeys there is no problem but when motoring for a period of say 1 hour the car just dies on me and glides to a stop if i try to change down to increase revs it just misses and stops. After a minute or so it will start first time and i can carry on sometimes it will happen again quickly or maybe after another longer period. My garage has had it on their computer on and off for three days with trips out in between and said they could not find anything wrong but it has happened again since. Any ideas please, that i could try. Thanks Kevin

Can the garage not road test the vehicle till it conks out then establish what the engines missing wether it be spark, fuel, issue or possibly sensor faulty.

it almost sounds like a fuel blockage or maybe water in the tank.do you get any fault codes recorded?

As there are no codes showing could check for a partially blocked CAT.

Checking MAF would also be a good idea .

The garage in the three days it had the car did road test but it was fine,There are no warning lights shown when it starts to fail, the warning lights only come on when it stalls or before starting as standard.I do not understand the MAR check (sorry if that is spelt wrong). Was thinking about changing the coils? the trouble is i am ignorant as regards cars. Cheers. Kevin

Do not guess and end up fitting parts needlessly that will only cost more money,Take it to a main dealer or someone switched on to proper diagnostic process you should get far better result,s.

my partners Almera sometimes just loses power & goes into a sort of limp mode & engine management light comes on. Mainly when stopped at roundabouts & traffic lights. Had it into garages & changed throttle sensor of which they say it is. Last weekend it just lost power on motorway in a average speed check section. Any ideas?
