1999 Nissan Almera air con/cool air not working properly

So my air con/cool air function provides great hot or cold air but only when its turned up full. Any other setting and I get nothing. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Just want a rough idea so that when I take it to the mechanic I know i'm not gettin ripped off again! took it in for new break pads once n came out wi new discs, and a front caliper.

I take it that you mean the blower speed turned on full. If so , then all you need is a new resistor pack fitting to the blower...
This controls the speed of the blower...

Sounds like what witty said, if you have no function on the other settings. Should expect to pay about £80 for resister pack on Nissan, Not a big job. It is recommended you use your aircon weekly to stop the gas settling. Aircon is great for de-misting your windscreen (make sure your air re circulation is not on for optimum de misting).

Hi my names Rajesh. I live in south africa. I had a similar problem and after 4yrs we finally figured out the problem. Thje aircon guys were filling too much gas. What it does is over works the compressor causes it to cut off. Therefore aircon blows warm air.

Release some gas. It worked for me.
