1999 Nissan Almera noise when accelerating

Car: Nissan Almera
Year: 1999
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
The car has started making a grinding/grating noise that only lasts a few seconds. This occurs mostly in the first minutes of a journey. It seems to happen when turning and acceleraiting at the same time. It appears to be coming from the front passenger side. The tyres, brakes and suspension have all been checked and of course when you want someone else to hear it it doesn't happen!

A loud clicking would suggest CV joint.

Grinding/ grating could be a mud flap fouling the tyre or brake back plate fouling the wheel.

To add to Rmar's suggestion re CV joint , try turning car on full lock in the likes of car park to load driveshaft and you should hear if joint clicking . You could also clean out disc pads and check they are free and clear of dirt/ brake dust etc .
