To much Water in header Tank after a drive.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site so I'll try to get this right first time,
I have a X Reg (2000) Mitsubishi K74 L200, I have been busy renewing the timing belts water pump front pulley and many other engine parts including a new full clutch, " the truck runs great", My problem is with the water in the radiator, there are no bubbles in the header tank the water heater temp sits nicely at half way, but the problem is that after a drive of about 50 miles or so the header tank is left full leaving the radiator short of water, it is not much of a loss it's just that I cant see it when I remove the radiator cap, I have been using a length of hose to take the water from the header tank and refilling the radiator, but on this last time I had the water displacement I removed the extra water from the header tank and have not topped the radiator back up, it seems to be running ok and temp seems fine but I'm not sure if there is a problem, there is no water in the oil or oil in the water, before I had all this work done I could see bubbles in the header tank but since the water pump was changed there has been no more, I hope this makes sense and someone can help me out.

Best wishes Mike.

Tried bleeding cooling system ? If not that get a block test carried out .Was water pump o.k or just the " water pump front pulley " that was changed ?

Another thought , try flushing rad , check fan cutting in and check thermostat .

@ Legend, Thanks for the fast reply, I know it sounds crazy but everything is working ok, the fan is running as it should, I had flushed the Radiator when all the work was done, but I have read that the only way to bleed the water system is to lift the front of the truck and run the engine to working temp with heater fan on full speed???, then undo the top hose, if there is any air it should come out then?, and you just reminded me that the only part that I did not replace is the Thermostat, but I had seen it open on a hot water test, but still it could be changed.

Have heard of some similar, unusual theories on bleeding different car cooling systems over the years but been a bit sceptic and never had to resort to using them .But always willing to learn when it comes to solving car probs .Thermostats can be o.k on testing but could possibly jam / stick on some cars when fitted for different reasons .If it's easy to get at , you could try running with it removed and see how it goes ?

@whittingehame, I have still got this problem, I tried flushing and still no different, I'm waiting for a new thermostat coming tomorrow, as I can't run it without IT because the thermostat is also the seal, any way I did a heat test and the stst opens fine with a kettle of boiling water but that's at one hell of a high temp, so I hope the stat is faulty and this new one does the trick, I'll post on how I get on thank you all for your help.

(Last try before the head comes off) ?????
