Unusual Noise

About every 15 seconds there is a strange wuring noise from the engine area... it sounds like something spinning up, then stops only to repeat itself. It seems to happen regardless of what the car is doing. You generally hear it more when the car is stationary. It doesn't seem to affect the performance, having said that the truck isn't straining itself by any means. Any Ideas???

If concerned about noise and it's consistent, lift bonnet and see if you can locate where it is coming from .

sounds like it could be alternator noise ie bearings dry if you can spray wd40 into the alternator should help regarding the noise and also over the drive belts as could be a dry noise coming from the belts
